Look at these amazing designs! I have to admit I was totally amazed at the pure talent and creativity when I arrived at the preview exhibition, based in Liverpool Street at the Coventry University London Campus.
The preview event showcased a selection of hats to offer a taste of what London Hat Week has to offer.
During London Hat Week in October, there will be the main exhibition, showcasing over 130 hat designs, alongside an array of events and workshops that are selling out as we speak.
Also, good news, if you get your ticket at the early bird rate, it’s only Β£6, can’t really go wrong with that!
I admit, my previous experience of viewing millinery had been from watching Ladies Day at the racing at Ascot, wishing I could one day dress up and flaunt such exquisite style and sophistication and maybe even get a mention on TV for having one of the most stylish outfits and hats…but on arrival at this exhibition my jaw dropped at the sheer creativity in each hat.
As you can see these designs are each so unique and each hat tells it’s own story and has it’s own inspiration.
Here is a selection of a few of my favourite hats.
This stunning hat caught my attention as soon as I walked into the room, I love bright colours and if you see my wardrobe you will know that I love RED <3
Inspired by the artist and designer Ertè, it is handmade using feather work/wire work & hand rolled sinamay.

This piece reminded me of Hollywood glamour. I wasn’t surprised to learn that it was inspired by a movie.
Inspired by Metropolis Movie (1927), this hat evoked the Machine Age concept of man and machine blending into one streamlined figure.

I would love to rock this hat…this is so my style! <3
Inspired be Moscow architecture, the skyscrapers of Moscow City business centre, this hat has definite geometry but yet has smooth soft lines – a striking combination.

This hat really stood out as different at this preview, I love the colour, the shape and the feel of the fabric.
I also got to meet the designer Martina Bohn, who was a lovely lady with an exquisite unique style as unique as her hat design.
This hat is truly a thing of wonder! It is so thin, yet so strong but surprisingly soft to the touch…don’t ask me how (i’m not the professional :D) I got to meet the Ana Lazovski, Β the designer who posed with the model with her extravagant design.
How stylish is Ana? Take a sneak peek at her gorgeous hair piece – beautiful!
Radar is inspired by fashion designer Koji Tatsuno, it was created for an exhibition of Koji’s work in Maribor, 2012 capital of culture.

I could keep showing you many more lovely designs from the preview but these give fairly good Β taste of the variety and creativity that awaits with over 130 Β hats that will be on show.
