On watching the trailer for this film, I honestly didn’t know what to expect, it seemed like a good film, it was obvious that it was a thriller, and I already knew and liked the actress, Jade Anouka, who plays Anita.
But I suppose what I’m trying to say is that, the trailer doesn’t give too much away, and after watching this film, I understood why – there would be too many spoilers.
The Synopsis
Catherine’s seemingly perfect rural life is turned upside down after she discovers her husband is hiding a dark secret that leads her to the unthinkable. Murder.
To elaborate on the above statement from the Imdb website, we meet Catherine who seems to have the perfect life, a beautiful home, a loving husband, no financial worries and a baby on the way, but as the film develops, we see that what’s on the surface is not at all as perfect as it seems.

My Thoughts
I love the way the story unfolded in this film – the use of flashbacks and symbolism really keeps you on the edge of your seat while you try to piece together some very important pieces – when you do – the sheer horror of Catherine’s past along with any questions you may have are gradually realised, making the film creepier than when it started.
The acting in this film is top notch and the actress, Sarah Roy who plays Catherine, really shone, displaying a range of emotions, with the ability to make you love and hate her all at once.
Anita, played by Jade Anouka is absolutely brilliant too, I loved the refreshingly quick banter they had with each other, like true besties!
Also, a big shout out to the young actresses who play their teenage characters -Teen Catherine (Isabelle Connelly) and Teen Anita – they are utterly brilliant.
The film has some bloody & gory bits, but I only had to look away once, so not too bad.
This film touches on some serious topics amid the dark humour and quick flashbacks, including, child abuse, mental health, drug dependency and trust.
It’s definitely worth watching if you like a really good story with some dark humour and a bit of murder thrown in.
Thanks for reading and enjoy – it’s out in cinemas now!
