Next Sunday is Mothering Sunday or Mother’s Day as it’s more commonly referred to.
Are you ready to spoil your mother or mother figure in your life?
If you’re looking for some inspiration I recommend you check out the Mothers Day range from moonpig.
Yes, moonpig have more than just personalised cards, they also have gifts and the most surprisingly beautiful range of flowers that are are prepped in-house.
I was lucky enough to be invited by moonpig to attend their influencers Mothers Day event at their Central London Headquarters with my Mum, to learn more about the variety of gifts available from their website.
We were treated to the afternoon tea and split into groups to attend 3 different workshops.
On arrival, we received a lovely warm welcome from Jennie and her moonpig team – it was pouring rain and so miserable outside and so we were delighted to dry off and enjoy one the cocktails on offer.
The first workshop my mum and I attended was a Cocktail Making Workshop
After making a cocktail (with LOTS of assistance from the kind bartender pictured) – see photo below we were all invited to afternoon tea.
Look how gorgeous the Afternoon Tea set up was….
Afternoon Tea consisted of the traditional English Afternoon Tea menu, including scones, jam and clotted cream – Delicious!
Look how gorgeous the moonpig flowers are…
After making friends with my fellow influencers and their mothers, mum and I were off to the photobooth and card making workshop.
I really hate photobooth photos of myself, but my mum looked good, so here’s a peek of the best one…
moonpig know what women like – retail therapy! So, after taking the photos we were kindly given laptops to create aΒ personalised Mothers Day Card for our mums on the moonpig websiteΒ with FREE delivery! Such a generous offer – THANK YOU ?
It was a bit weird shopping for a Mother’s Day card for my mum with her sitting right next to me, but on the up-side, I let her choose the template that she liked. It arrived the next working day as promised too ?
The final workshop was my absolute favourite workshop of the whole day – Flower Arranging!
I know I must sound so middle-aged, but the moonpig bouquets are so gorgeous I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them, plus I really wanted some tips on making flowers last longer indoors as I love a pretty bouquet – well, to be fair, who doesn’t?
The ladies who hosted the workshop were full of flower knowledge and little tips.
Here are the top 7 things I learnt;
- Get the correct size vase for your flowers or cut the stems, so that the vase reaches about halfway.
- You do not need to fill the vase with water to the top, just make sure that the bottom of the stems are covered, it’s easier for the flowers to feed this way.
- Cut stems at a 45 degree angle – NOT straight across!
- The flower food really does help your flowers last longer – so actually use it
- Around Day 3, refresh the water in the vase to help your flowers survive longer.
- You can use a bit of sugar as a flower food replacementΒ – about a teaspoon will do.
- Pick out dead or wilted flowers to help the fresher flowers to last longer.
I didn’t realise that moonpig had flowers as an option, let alone that they were so beautiful!
I’m sure when most people think of moonpig they think of a personalised card service but moonpig has so much more to offer in terms of gifts.
