If you love dance, then this Saturday you are in for a treat – Impact Dance, run by Hakeem βMr Impact” is celebrating his company’s 25th anniversary – (well, it’s actually 26 yrs now, but with the pandemic and lockdowns, you know the rest…) well, there’s going to be a huge performance at Peacock Theatre, alongside some talented friends from other amazing dance groups – BOP Jazz Theatre Company,Β Boy Blue,Β Far From The Norm,Β FFI of Impact Dance,Β Fusions Elite,Β Impact Youth,Β REDO (Holland),Β Reading School of Dance,Β The Urdang ACS, andΒ ZooNation Youth Company.
I’m sure you’ve heard of most, if not all of these dance groups, who are all well known for their Hip Hop & Jazz dance skills with mesmerising choreography.
Hakeem Onibudo has achieved so much in his career and I remember first meeting him back in 2009 when he was hosting a Youth dance event at the London Mayors office, when my dance school Unique Dynamites was only a year old and he has been a constant presence throughout my career as a dance teacher – he’s usually encouraging my dance students on the freestyle stage at the Move it Dance event amongst many other events.
I, personally want to congratulate him on his fantastic achievement with Impact Dance as well as his other milestones, he’s such an inspiration!
Forever the feminist, I’m also so happy to see 2 of my favourite female choreographers have their dance companies on the bill…
BOP – Body of People run by the gorgeous and talented Dollie Henry is a particular favourite of mine and I cannot wait to see them live! (See photo above)
Also, Zoonation Youth Dance Company run by the adorable and talented Kate Prince who’s productions have never disappointed. (Photo below).
This show is a part of the Sadlers Wells “Well Seasoned” Celebrating Black Dance initiative.
