Film Review: My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To – Out on Digital 28th June 2021

My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To Film

This is one of those films where the trailer doesn’t really do it justice, in my opinion.

On first glance, it seems like quite a quiet, slow-paced film, but don’t be fooled, a lot of content can’t be shown due to spoilers and you appreciate the lack of details in the trailer once you’re having all the shocks and scares throughout the film.

The Synopsis

This film follows siblings Dwight (Patrick Fugit) and Jessie (Ingrid Sophie Schram) who put all their energy into keeping their little brother Thomas (Owen Campbell) alive. But he craves human blood.

Don’t just take my word for it, take a look at the trailer…

My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To Film Trailer

My Thoughts

Written and directed by Jonathan Cuartas, this is a gripping thriller that draws you in slowly, but surely and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end!

The actors are so good at portraying the characters, I absolutely warmed to Dwight (Patrick Fugit), he is so relatable, and is under immense pressure from his sister, Jessie, (Ingrid Sophie Schram) who I at first totally disliked, but then sympathised with her plight.

The film touches on issues, such as family, siblings and makes you wonder what how far you would actually go to protect the ones you love?

Make sure to download this film – it’s well worth watching.

Thanks for reading.
