Although this Christmas season has echoes of Christmas past regarding the pandemic, why not take some time out with family and friends and escape to the amazing world of theatre?
I have rounded up a few of the shows that I wouldn’t want to miss this Christmas season.
Take a look and see if anything tickles your fancy…
The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night Time – Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre – 9th January 2022
This fantastic show is currently running at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, as a part of it’s 10th Anniversary UK & Ireland Tour.
The story tells the tale of Christopher, 15yrs old, with an extraordinary skill for all things, mathematics, but struggles with day to day social interactions.
It all starts when he finds his neighbour’s dog killed in their garden and the adventure carries on from there.
Warning: This production has some strong language
Age: Recommended for ages 11yrs +

Fair Play – Bush Theatre – 22nd January 2022
This show provides an insight in the world of female athletics at the highest level.
It starts full of hopes and dreams for both characters, until an unexpected turn of events question whether the sacrifices were all worth it!
Well worth watching – a review will be uploaded very soon.
Beauty and The Beast Family Pantomime – Fairfield Halls – Ashcroft Theatre, Croydon – Sunday 2nd January 2022
Would it even be Christmas without a family trip to the panto?
Telling the loved tale of Beauty and the Beast and starring TV favourites, Dick & Dom alongside some other talented folk, you know that you can’t go wrong with this choice.
Definitely one for all the family!
Cratchit at Park Theatre – Park 90 – Saturday 8th January 2022
My favourite Christmas story of them all, is A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and this tale is an imaginative story from the perspective of Scrooge’s 1 employee, Mr Bob Cratchit, with his own demons to bear, who himself is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
A small excellent cast too – a review is on the way!
Bring It On – The Musical – Southbank Centre – Queen Elizabeth Hall – 22nd January 2022
OK, so you cannot beat a good musical at Christmas and I have been absolutely itching to see this show pre-lockdown!
I’ve heard really good things and as a Cheerleading coach myself, cannot wait to see the musical based of the amazing Bring it On Film series.
A Review will be on the way soon!
Peggy For You – Hampstead Theatre – 29th January 2022
Starring the amazingly talented Tamsin Grieg, who I’ve been lucky enough to meet in real life, she’s so lovely and down to earth, this show tells the story of the legendary actors agent, Peggy Ramsay.
This choice is great for those who are in the mood for a play and not a musical, pantomime or a typical Christmas story.
I can’t wait to see it!
The Little Prince – Luca Silvestrini’s Protein – The Place Theatre – 24th December 2021
This family favourite is a fantastic treat for all those who want a magical tale to boost the spirit of the holiday season.
A mix of dance, laughs and acting, this show is suitable for all ages!
I hope you’ve found something you like in this list, let me know in the comments which shows you’ve already seen or are on your wish list!
Enjoy!
