This film appealed to me, as it was a British film about female friendship, something I can relate to easily. Directed and written by Blake Ridder, the storyline made me curious about the secrets close friends keep from one another, although we share other intimate details about our lives with our “besties”.
Also, I love the support that true friends can provide, when we need it. So, I was very interested to see how this would play out in this film…Let’s just say, I wasn’t prepared at all for what came after the revelations…
A painful break up prompts Grace (Emily Redpath) to visit her friend Liv (Sarah Alexandra Marks) who is living in the idyllic English countryside with her boyfriend Edward (Louis James) and his dog Polly. The trio start the weekend in high spirits but soon turns into chaos, as well-kept secrets are exposed and the friends come to see each other in a whole new light.
Take a look at the trailer…
This film makes you think you know what you’ll be getting, but don’t be fooled by the synopsis and trailer as there are many surprises ahead!
It’s not your typical girl gets heartbroken, visits friend for support, finds out friends secret type of vibe…well, it is, but it’s so much more than that & with a stellar cast of talented actors, it’s hard to believe that it was filmed in only 12 days over the early part of the pandemic, with restrictions in place, it meant a maximum of 20 cast & crew could be present on set.
You’d never believe the restrictions were in place, as the quality of the film is top-notch!
As the story unfolds, it’s obvious that the happy couple Liv and Edward are not the happy, perfect couple that they make out to be and Grace has her own motives for visiting the pair.
Blake Ridder, the writer & director (of this film) also stars in this film, playing David, the neighbour who knows more than he’s prepared to say about Liv and Edward’s activities.
What a talented guy!
Also, Louis James, who plays Edward, also co-produced the film, so this film is full of multi-talented people.
I definitely recommend this film, it’s entertaining and thought-provoking, with a plot that keeps your mind wondering and you at the edge of your seat!
Also, Duncan James from the Boyband Blue & the Soap Opera Hollyoaks fame makes a cameo appearance too!

After Party Photos
After the press screening I was lucky enough to be invited to drinks with a meet & greet, which turned into an informal Birthday party for Sarah, who plays Liv.
